Giliitts Cattery is based in 7 Sunbird Lane, Gillitts, KwaZulu-Natal, and is easily accessible for cat owners in Hillcrest, Kloof, and the greater Durban area.
What makes your cattery different?
We focus on calm, low-stress cat boarding. Each cat stays in a private, escape-proof suite with a quiet environment and personalised care, helping them feel safe and settled throughout their stay.
What type of environment do you provide?
Our cattery is designed to be peaceful and secure, with clean, well-maintained spaces and minimal noise. This helps reduce stress and supports your cat’s natural routine.
Do you only board cats?
Yes. We specialise exclusively in cat boarding, which allows us to create a calm, cat-friendly environment without the stress that other animals can cause.
Is your cattery suitable for long stays?
Yes. Our setup and care approach are designed to support both short and extended stays, with a focus on keeping cats comfortable over time.
Do you accommodate special requests?
Where possible, we aim to accommodate reasonable requests to support your cat’s routine and comfort. Please discuss any specific needs with us before booking.

During Your Cat’s Stay
How do you keep cats stress-free during boarding?
We follow consistent routines, provide a quiet environment, and encourage familiar scents from home. Each cat is cared for based on their individual personality and comfort level.
How often are cats checked?
Cats are monitored at least twice daily to ensure they are eating, drinking, and settling well. We keep a close eye on behaviour and overall wellbeing.
Can you handle shy or anxious cats?
Yes. We regularly care for shy and sensitive cats. They are given time and space to settle, with gentle, minimal interaction until they feel comfortable.
Do cats interact with each other?
No. Cats are housed separately (unless from the same household) to reduce stress and ensure safety.
What do you feed the cats?
We recommend bringing your cat’s usual food to maintain their routine and avoid digestive issues. Food can be provided if arranged in advance.
Will I receive updates during my cat’s stay?
Yes. We can provide whatsapp updates for peace of mind, especially for longer stays or first-time boarders.
What happens if my cat seems unwell during their stay?
If we notice any changes in behaviour or health, we will contact you immediately and seek veterinary advice if needed.
